“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

MATTHEW 28:18-20

WAYS TO BE ABLE TO WITNESS TO RESIDENTS WHEN I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START OR KNOW MY GIFTS TO SHARE:

There are many ways to bless residents in these facilities. You can learn time frames when no activities are going on in these facilities and lead a game such as Bingo, read a book to an individual or a group, or even bring in a pet which you know would be good with the residents for pet visits. All of these things bless them and enrich their lives and open opportunities to share the love of God.

INFORMATION

Christian services in assisted living communities address the spiritual and emotional needs of residents, offering comfort, community and purpose in their later years.  Aging often brings physical decline, loss of loved ones, and anxiety about future.  For Christian residents, their faith is a primary source of resilience.

Assurance of God’s presence helps residents of all faith backgrounds to cope with pain, loneliness, and their fear of dying. Engaging with faith practices can restore a sense of meaning and purpose that may have been diminished by retirement or loss of independence.  Spiritual guidance offers hope regarding eternal life, providing a perspective on the end of life.

Essential services needed:

Regular worship services and communion (consistent opportunities for group worship foster a sense of community and shared belief)

the saints can provide one-on-one time addressing individual anxieties and offering private shares and prayer

bible studies and prayer groups (a deeper dive into faith, encourage interaction and foster intellectual and spiritual engagement)

dedicated volunteers can offer simple friendship, read scripture or simply sit and listen, breaking the cycle of isolation.

Providing robust Christian presence in nursing homes is a fundamental aspect of compassionate, person-centered care. By nurturing the spirit, we enhance the quality of life for our most vulnerable citizens, ensuring their final years are filled with comfort, dignity and a profound sense of hope.

The help needed is not a burden but it is our collective responsibility. Proclaiming good news involves continual presence, showing up, offering comfort, and gently challenging residents to grow in faith and love. Our website aids in transparency and accountability: BeGodsFeet.org
